Create a Creativity Hot Spot

Many companies claim to be on the leading edge of technology and they show us a new innovations and projects, which are a state of the art. These high tech corporations that are into innovation have very creative research and development departments and they spend big bucks designing, creating and building the next generation of products. Still, when creative consultants take a look at what these companies are doing they often cringe.

You see, many companies claim to be creative and innovative, yet they are riddled by a bureaucracy and primate politics within their project management teams. They take the fun out of creating and whereas they claim to be focusing their minds and energy like a laser, all they're really doing is preventing people from using their creative genius.

If the company is really into innovation then they need to hire the people who have been creative in the past and have come up with original thoughts and inventions. The people designing the prototypes should be allowed leeway to explore, experiment and ultimately discover new and interesting things.

However, since the research and development department is a business unit within a larger group or corporation, all too often the creativity is forced and thus the innovation is fake, controlled and not as creative as they might have your believe.

Creativity is essential to winning the innovation game, but true creativity cannot be micro-managed, rather it must flow. Creativity is contagious in the right atmosphere and it leads to more of the same. Creativity is the key to innovative companies and their future. Please think on this.
